Sony Cybershot DSC-H3

Strengths: Great Camera for the price.

Weakness: None

Great camera for the price. It takes great photos. I tried taking photos in the dark with flash light the photos come out bright. The chargeable battery comes with the camera which helps.

Great Camera

Strengths: Ease of use. Zoom is very good. Outstanding night shot.

Weakness: picture can easily blur. Need to know the right setting for the right picture.

This camera is by far the best performance camera that I have ever had. 10x zoom is great. Features and options are endless. The only problem that I had was that it took me some time to not get blury pictures. But after some practice it was easy.

Sony DSC H3/B

Strengths: Sturdy design and 10X optical Zoom

Weakness: NONE

This stunning DSC H3 has an excellent ability to take pictures even in the low light conditions. i like the optical image stabilization in this camera as i have suffered previously from shaky pictures without this feature. 10X optical zoom is very helful. overall it has a very sturdy design and high quality display and great pictures.

Far better than H2 series

Strengths: Very small in size for such a high optical zoom

Weakness: Doesn't use AA batteries

I bought this camera couples of days ago. First look gave me an impression that this is pretty small in size compared to other high zoom cameras. The only weak point that I have noticed is, it uses its own battery not the usual AA (we have in Sony DSC H2). I generally like AA cau'z those are pretty cheap. As far picture quality is concerned, I love the color contrast and the zoom.

OUTSTANDING CAMERA

Strengths: everything/in auto mode this camera does it all including auto pop up flash/wow

Weakness: none if you have one

Update/ still works fine/ see pics in totally dark room all in auto mode/Just got mine from Dell with a phone order at their small business site. Got it in one business day after I ordered with standard free shipping. Charged the battery for one hour just to test it to make sure it works. Wow! If you want a camera that works well in auto mode this is the one. Zoomed into a distant dark bedroom...

Optical zoom

Strengths: Everything about this camera

Weakness: None. The fact that it doesn't use double A batteries isn't a factor beause you can shoot for days with Sony's battery before it needs to be charged.

I just wanted to add a quick note a lot of people don't seem to know about this camera. If you change the resolution to VGA (640 x 480) this camera will now shoot with 57X optical zoom. And you thought 10X was awesome!

why I didn't buy one

Strengths: construction, picture quality, ease of use

Weakness: doesn't use AA batts, requires lens cap

after years of satisfaction using a Sony P93, it was time to upgrade. the choice fell to Sony H3 or Canon A590, they are very similar. sorry, but having to mess with a lens cap, not using readily available AA batteries and twice as much price killed the deal for me. which is a shame because otherwise I would have preferred the Sony. but those are serious drawbacks. btw, extensive comparison...

This is a great camera.

Strengths: Very compact and lightweight given its zoom capability.

Weakness: My battery does not last very long and they are expensive to replace.

I purchased this camera because it was small and light given it's capabilities. I've used it to take pictures of my son playing sports and have been very happy with the results. I particularly like the "sports mode" that allows you to take action photos without messing with settings. I also like the ease of use of moving files between the camera and my computer. I think they have done a good job...

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 (black)

THE GOOD: Has 10x optical zoom lens; small size; optical image stabilization; face detection. THE BAD: Noisy images at higher ISOs; no place to put your thumb. THE BOTTOM LINE: If you dont like electronic viewfinders, but want a superzoom, this Sony packs a 10x zoom lens and 8 megapixels into a tiny package, but image quality at higher ISOs is a bit lacking.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H3 Review

Sony has developed a knack for packing a lot of high-end value in the entry-level model of each of their digital camera lines. In the long-zoom H-Series, the Sony H3 continues that trend with a 10x optical zoom, Advanced Sports mode, a Bionz processor, face detection technology, High ISO, Super SteadyShot, in-camera editing, and HD output signal. Gone is the electronic viewfinder found on the...
