LaCie Rugged All-Terrain External HD 120GBStrengths: light, rubberized sides for safety if dropped. This is a very cool external hard drive. It is compact and a great size overall. The overall design is great, and the drive itself is very light. I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Portable disk with high speedStrengths: Portable but with USB and firewire 400 $ 800 Weakness: Without light indicator for drive status nad storage bag This rugged portable disk let me feel more comfortable for data protection. The Firewire 800 can be the fastest speed for portable drive with true plug and play. When I use it in USB connection, I usually connect the USB power cable to ensure enough power for the drive.

Great for making that leap from computer to computerStrengths: Portability, Triple interface I do a lot of film editing and this is a great way to keep my projects mobile. I can edit between computers, take it on shoots to collect raw DV footage on location, edit in the field, you name it. It's a nice way to keep the most current editing files with me in case I need to make any last minute changes. The rubber siding is a reassuring bet too, for those occasional falls and bangs.

Does the Job - With Style!
Strengths: Triple interface, durability, cables included, panache.
Weakness: Cost is a little high, size is on the larger side.
LaCie has done a great job cramming three interfaces into a small size. With Firewire 400 and 800, and USB 2, I can use it in any configuration and get the bets of both worlds. As a Powerbook G4 user, I was concerned about power to the drive, and like many other large drives, this one will not run on USB alone without using the included power USB cable (takes up two ports total on your machine....
